1. What our content is

Northview Productions Inc., a British Columbia company doing business as Kalam Di Goonj (“the Company”, “we”), publishes journalism, literature, and cultural writing, including pieces touching science, health, history, education, culture, personal finance, and law.

All of it is published for general information, education, and cultural interest. It is written for a general audience rather than for your particular circumstances, and it is journalism rather than a professional service.

2. What our content is not

Nothing in the Publication is:

• Medical advice. An article about health, treatment, nutrition, or public health is not a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for a physician, pharmacist, or other regulated health professional who knows your situation.
• Legal advice. Writing about law, whether immigration, family, employment, or housing, describes the general position as we understand it. It is not advice about your case, and it creates no solicitor-client relationship.
• Financial or investment advice. Pieces about money, markets, pensions, or household economics are not recommendations to buy, sell, or take any action with your money.
• Any other regulated professional service, including engineering, immigration consulting, tax preparation, and therapy.

Where a decision is consequential, whether for your health, your rights, your money, or your family’s status, treat the article as a starting point and consult a qualified professional who can consider your facts. Laws differ between British Columbia, the rest of Canada, India, Pakistan, and other places our readers live, and what was accurate at publication can change.

3. Historical and archival material

Part of our purpose is carrying older Punjabi writing forward. Historical and archival works reflect the era, knowledge, and prejudices of their time. Where required, such pieces carry a context label stating when and where the work is from and, where appropriate, that its language or assumptions belong to its period. Publication of a historical work is preservation and study, not endorsement of its claims, whether medical, social, or otherwise.

4. How this appears in practice

You should not have to find this page yourself. Pieces our editors tag as health, legal, or financial explainers carry a short note at the point of reading, for example “This piece is general information, not medical advice”, linking here. Context labels on historical works appear on the piece itself.

5. Limits of this page

This page narrows the purpose of our content. It does not narrow our responsibility for its quality:

• It does not disclaim our accuracy commitments. We hold ourselves to accuracy, fairness, and context in everything we publish, including specialist subjects, where we take particular care with sourcing and, where appropriate, expert review.
• It does not affect our corrections duty. If we published it and it is wrong, we correct it visibly under our Corrections Policy, whatever the subject.
• It does not exclude what cannot be excluded. Nothing on this page limits rights or remedies that applicable law, including BC consumer protection law, gives you regardless of what a publisher writes. The liability provisions governing our relationship are in the Terms of Use, and this page does not extend them.
