We link to archives, other publications, official documents, and community resources so that readers can verify claims themselves.

A link from our pages means an editor judged the destination useful to readers in the context of the piece. It does not mean the Company or the Publication endorses the linked site, its owners, its accuracy, its politics, or its handling of your data. The same applies in reverse: a site we link to has not endorsed us, and its policies do not become ours. Once you follow a link, the destination site’s own terms and privacy practices apply.

Editors select links on editorial grounds: relevance, reliability of the source for the purpose cited, and usefulness to the reader. We avoid linking to material that exists to deceive, except where the link is itself the subject of reporting and is framed as such.

3. Embedded media

Some pieces embed video or other media hosted elsewhere.

  • YouTube. Our standard is YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed, the youtube-nocookie mode. Before you press play, the embed area loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain. When you press play, the video streams from YouTube, and YouTube may then set its own cookies and collect data about your viewing under Google’s policies. Even in privacy-enhanced mode, playing a video is an interaction with YouTube rather than with us.   • Where the design permits, we use a click-to-load placeholder marked “this loads from YouTube”, so that nothing loads from the third party until you choose.
  • We embed only where embedding appears authorized, meaning the uploader has enabled it and appears to hold the rights. If we learn that an embedded work is infringing, misattributed, or has been taken down at source, we remove or replace the embed. Report such a case through our Copyright Complaints procedure or the channel in section 6.
  • We do not build advertising around embedded video, and we observe the embed terms of the platforms we use.

External media can change or disappear after we publish: videos are deleted, accounts close, pages move. A dead or altered embed or link is not a statement by us. Report it and we will repair, remove, or annotate it.

4. Third-party services we rely on

Operating the Publication involves a small number of outside services. Two affect you directly:

  • Payments, Stripe. Checkout takes place on a Stripe-hosted page. Stripe handles your card details, which never reach the Company’s servers. Stripe’s own terms and privacy policy govern its processing.
  • Email delivery, Resend. Our transactional email and, separately, the newsletter you consented to are delivered by Resend.

These providers do not endorse Kalam Di Goonj, are not responsible for our content, and are not party to our relationship with you beyond their processing role. Equally, we do not control and do not answer for their services beyond what the law and our contracts with them require; where a problem lies inside a provider’s systems, we will help route you to them. Our Privacy Policy lists all processors and what each receives.

5. Limits of this page

  • It does not mean we exercise no care over links and embeds. Selection is an editorial act, and mistakes are correctable under our Corrections Policy.
  • It does not exclude the responsibility the law places on us for our own content, including the words we write around a link or embed.
  • It does not mean outbound links are commercial. If a link earns us a commission, our Advertising Disclosure requires us to say so at the link.

6. Report a problem

For a broken link, a dead embed, an embed you believe is infringing, or a destination that has become harmful since we linked it, write to [email protected] with the page URL and what you found. Rights concerns can go directly through our Copyright Complaints procedure.
